“Health care is a human right” is the bumper sticker that adorned Dr. Carroll Christiansen’s blue Tracker for many years as he zipped from office to hospital and back. That has been his believe, that quality care should be accessible to all. During his tenure as Medical Director of Roane County Health Care in Spencer, WV, he worked to make that happen. Dr. Christiansen, who is Board certified in Family Practice, provides an array of medical services including office surgery, caring for residents in the local nursing home, and teaching students. He supervises a full staff of practitioners and nurses as well as being on the staff of Roane General Hospital. Patients have described him as “someone I can talk to” and “he makes you feel like you are somebody.”

Dr. Christiansen makes his home in rural Roane County. He is married and has three grown children and one grandchild. He is currently Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 437 in Spencer, is an elder in the Spencer Presbyterian Church and enjoys raising goats and sailing in his spare time.
